“What do you think love really is? “I love my daughter?” “I’d love to have lunch at my club?” “I love golf, a martini as the sun sets?” “I love my country?”
Well, here’s what I think (l will be 85 next month)
“I know that all words (symbols) have no meaning in themselves. Instead each of you puts whatever meaning in every word we process in our brain (I love Spaghetti). So I will keep going along with what T S Eliot called Objective correlative, He coined this phrase to describe “a set of objects, a situation, a chain of events which shall be the formula of that particular emotion” that the poet feels and hopes to evoke in the reader“
“Simply put. If you want to use words, keep it simple. Be sure to be specific in the word you want to communicate. For example, don’t just say, “Smoke” because if you say that I have no idea what kind of smoke you are referring to. “Cigarette smoke?” “Smoke from a forest fire?”
